Twitter introduces embedded tweets on Twitter web version
Last month, Twitter mobile apps, both Android and iOS, rolled out the feature to embed tweets within tweets. The feature has finally come to Twitter web. Here’s how it works: Just post a link to a tweet in your tweet and Twitter will show it as a embedded tweet. Here’s an example:
Note that the links inside the embedded tweet cannot be opened directly until the user visits the original tweet. With this feature, you get a preview of the linked tweet and you don’t have to go to the link to find out what it’s about. It also adds certain styling to your tweets and stands out from the usual tweets. Also note that if someone retweets an embedded tweet, the embed remains intact.
How many times have you faced making a decision between retweeting vs tweeting a tweet with your own 140 words? Well, this feature definitely encourages you to tweet it in your own words with the embedded tweet still in place.
It is great to see how embedded tweets rolled out on Twitter – from embedding tweets on other websites to embedded tweets on mobile, and now on the web version! Let’s see what Twitter has to offer in the coming days.
